GUB HR SUMMIT-2026

Emphasizing the importance of strengthening long-term partnerships between industry and higher education institutions to address the demands of the industrial revolution, artificial intelligence, and the rapidly changing global labor market, leading human resource experts, corporate executives, and academics in Bangladesh asserted that the country's youth must be equipped for global competition. These insights were shared at the “GUB HR Summit-2026: Empowering Today's Talent to Lead Tomorrow,” organized by the Center for Career Development (CCD) at Green University of Bangladesh on 1st August, 2026 (Saturday).

The summit witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 35 distinguished chief executive officers (CEOs), heads of human resources, directors, and senior corporate professionals representing some of the country's leading organizations. The event featured three high-impact panel discussions and two interactive round table discussions, fostering meaningful exchanges of ideas and best practices in the field of human resource management.

Among the participating organizations were Nitol Niloy Group, Air Astra, Upay, Apex Footwear Limited, Standard Group, Akij Venture Group, Prime Bank Fintech Limited, Kazi & Kazi Tea Estate Limited, US-Bangla Airlines, Aman Group, Astha Feed Industries Limited, Esquire Electronics Ltd., Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd., Crown Cement, Meghna Group of Industries, Coats Bangladesh, Prime Bank PLC, and Gemcon Group, along with several other renowned corporate organizations.

As the chief guest, Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, honorable vice chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh, stated that the HR Summit serves as an effective platform for fostering long-term partnerships between the university and the corporate sector. “We aim not only to award degrees but also to develop students into successful professionals and future leaders,” he remarked.

As the special guest, Professor Dr. Khwaja Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, highlighted that alongside technical knowledge, effective communication skills, creativity, and leadership qualities are essential foundations for a student's career. He noted that the summit will pave the way for new opportunities for students.

The title of the first panel discussion was “The Future of Human Resources," and it took place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Multipurpose Hall at GUB. The session was moderated by Dr. Md. Shamim Mondol, Chairperson of the Department of English. The distinguished panelists included Farjana Alim, Head of HR, Air Astra; Shamima Akhtar Khanmon, SPHRi Chief Human Resources Officer, Nitol Niloy Group; Arpon Saha, Head of HR, Upay; Sumon Kante Singha, Chief Human Resources Officer, Fakir Group; Mohammad Khalid, Head of HR, Apex Footwear Limited; and Dilruba Sharmin Khan, HR Professional.

The panelists focused on the evolving landscape of human resources and the forces shaping the future of work. Under the theme “Future of Human Resources," the distinguished panelists explored how HR professionals can navigate technological disruption, changing workforce expectations, and the growing importance of employee experience. The discussion highlighted the need for HR to move beyond traditional administrative functions and become a strategic partner in organizational growth. Key conversations revolved around AI and digital transformation, future-ready skills, talent management, leadership development, workplace culture, and employee well-being.

During the panel discussion, students interacted with the panelists through an engaging Q&A session, seeking advice on career planning, employability, leadership, and the future of work. The session was moderated by Dr. Mohammad Delwar Hussain, Chairperson, Department of Business Administration. The distinguished panelists included Sheikh Aminur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, Prime Bank Fintech Limited; Ashfaqur Rahman, Chief Operating Officer, Kazi & Kazi Tea Estate Ltd; Zia Uddin Mahmud, Chief Operating Officer, Creative Business Group; and A.B.M. Yusuf Ali Khan, Executive Director HR, Aman Group

The panelists featured an insightful conversation on “Leadership Development for the Next Decade,” exploring how organizations can cultivate leaders capable of navigating an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world. Elham Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of English & Director, Green Center for International Affairs. The distinguished panelists included Md. Rezaul Karim, Chief Human Resource Officer, Standard Group; Nusrat Tabassum, SVP & Head of Human Resources Training, Guardian Life Insurance; AKM Mahmudul Haque, ICF – PCC, Executive Leadership Coach, Certified Facilitator, and International Human Resources Practitioner; Zahid Rahman, Head of Human Resources, Akij Venture Group; Md. Tahmidul Islam, Head of Talent, PM, and OD Human Resource, US-Bangla Airlines; and Shantanu Ray, Chief People Officer, HR & Administration, Astha Feed Industries Limited.
