GUB HR SUMMIT-2026

Emphasizing the importance of strengthening long-term partnerships between industry and higher education institutions to address the demands of the industrial revolution, artificial intelligence, and the rapidly changing global labor market, leading human resource experts, corporate executives, and academics in Bangladesh asserted that the country's youth must be equipped for global competition. This involves developing future-oriented human resources, skilled leadership, and employability skills.

These insights were shared at the “GUB HR Summit-2026: Empowering Today's Talent to Lead Tomorrow,” organized by the Center for Career Development (CCD) at Green University of Bangladesh on 1st August, 2026 (Saturday).

The conference took place on the university campus and gathered around 30 human resource experts, corporate executives, educators, administrative officers, students, and young professionals from various sectors. It featured three panel discussions and two roundtable meetings that facilitated detailed conversations on future workforce needs, leadership development, employability skills, talent management, technology-based human resource management, workplace transformation in the era of artificial intelligence, and various aspects of collaboration between industry and academia. Speakers emphasized the necessity of building strong, long-term partnerships between industry and higher education institutions to effectively link the knowledge gained in universities with the requirements of the real workplace.

As the chief guest, Green University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin stated that the HR Summit serves as an effective platform for fostering long-term partnerships between the university and the corporate sector. “We aim not only to award degrees but also to develop students into successful professionals and future leaders,” he remarked.

Special guest Professor Dr. Khwaja Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, the university’s Pro-Vice Chancellor, highlighted that alongside technical knowledge, effective communication skills, creativity, and leadership qualities are essential foundations for a student's career. He noted that the summit will pave the way for new opportunities for students.

Human resource experts at the conference pointed out that Bangladesh's young population represents one of the largest human resources in the country. They emphasized that by developing the right skills, professional preparation, and leadership capabilities, it is possible to enhance the country's position in sustainable economic growth and global competition.

Top executives, human resource heads, and experts from various organizations participated in the panel discussions and roundtable sessions. Notable attendees included ABM Yusuf Ali Khan (Aman Group), Sheikh Aminur Rahman (Prime Bank Fintech Limited), Ashfaqur Rahman (Kazi & Kazi Tea Estate Limited), and Zia Uddin Mahmud (Creative Business Group). Other human resource specialists present included Dilruba Sharmin Khan (Human Resource Specialist), Suman Kanti Sinha (Fakir Group), Shamima Akhter Khanam (Nitol Niloy Group), Farzana Alim (Air Astra), Mohammad Khalid (Apex Footwear Limited), Arpan Saha (Head of Human Resources, Upay), AKM Mahmudul Haque (ICF-PCC Certified Executive Leadership Coach and Human Resource Expert), Nusrat Tabassum (Guardian Life Insurance Limited), Md. Tahmidul Islam (US-Bangla Airlines), Shantanu Roy (Astha Feed Industries Limited), Md. Rezaul Karim (Standard Group), and Zahid Rahman (Akij Venture Group).

Participants engaged in question-and-answer sessions during various conference segments, sharing their experiences regarding contemporary challenges in human resource management, prospects, and innovative practices in the workplace. The event concluded with mementos presented to the participating speakers and discussants.
